🐾 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage at SSHS - Day 2! 🐾
Under the leadership of Ms. Perez, our students are continuing their hard work recreating iconic dishes from Hispanic cultures using non-edible materials to showcase the beauty and diversity of these traditions! Countries represented include: Spain, Portugal, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. The creations are displayed in the library, and the scavenger hunt is still going strong! A big thanks to Ms. Perez for organizing this exciting event as we celebrate the rich heritage and contributions of Hispanic communities! And.... a SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to SSHS Art Teacher Ms. Gonzalez for collaborating in this event and supplying the student art!!! #PantherNation

Mr. Wright's psychology classes are diving into the brain study unit with creativity! Students designed and crafted "Brain Hats," each highlighting and labeling different parts of the brain. Check out these cool, wearable brain models that bring neuroscience to life! #PantherNation

This morning, Principal Dr. Miller made a special visit to Ms. Keen's CTE Medical Lab, where students are practicing how to take blood sugar levels. As Ms. Keen guides the class, Dr. Miller engages with the students, observing their techniques and offering encouragement AND VOLUNTEERING to have her blood sugar level taken. The students, excited by the principal’s presence, focus on mastering the proper use of glucose meters and understanding the critical role blood sugar monitoring plays in managing diabetes. Dr. Miller’s visit adds an extra layer of enthusiasm, showing support for the hands-on learning happening in the medical lab. The atmosphere buzzes with energy as students apply their skills in a real-world medical context. #PantherNation
BETA Club Triumph in Hot Springs!
On Monday and Tuesday, our Beta Club officers made waves at the regional Beta Leadership Summit, qualifying for Nationals in both judged leadership challenges!
In the "Lead Outside the Box" Challenge, our team scored a perfect 100 with an innovative plan to tackle cyberbullying in our high school. Their creativity and passion were truly inspiring! Huge congrats to these exceptional leaders: Abby Gatlin, Brian Ponce, Katelyn Cottrell, Jaxen Labitad, and Landry Ladner. We’re so proud of your hard work and dedication! #PantherNation

SSHS CTE/Medical Students are honing their essential registered medical assistant skills by practicing how to draw up medications from a vial and administer injections using trainers. Building confidence and precision in real-world medical scenarios! #PantherNation
In our Life and Fitness Nutrition Lab, students explored the rich food traditions and customs of different countries around the world. After diving into their research, they brought their findings to life by cooking up delicious recipes from Mexico, Italy, and Japan!
