This week was a no technology week at the middle school. So some of our tech heavy classes got super creative. In Design and Modeling, students designed and created technical sketches for their own 3 dimensional puzzles. In Automation and Robotics, students examined inputs and outputs of systems by designing and building their own Rube Goldberg Machines. #PantherNation #SSMS

UPDATE ‼ The immediate weather danger has passed and we will be resuming our regular scheduled bus routes at 4:45 pm. Students will load buses at the high school and be headed home. Parents, please be patient as our bus drivers will be driving with extra caution. Bus Routes will be an hour behind schedule. Thank you for understanding!

Last week we had some students travel to Little Rock to participate in the state Technology Student Association leadership conference. We were the only middle school chapter that made it there which placed these students in breakout sessions with juniors and seniors. The students were given challenges such as public speaking, fundraiser planning, community service planning, and general leadership planning. The students pictured were able to keep up with their high school counterparts and performed so well that DESE staff and the other advisors present commented on their performance. We are proud of these students for representing SSMS so well!! #PantherNation #SSMS

Last month, our choir students had a cheesecake fundraiser. This fundraiser helps keep our program “fee free,” covering costs like choir t-shirts, formal uniforms, choir binders and music, and event registration.
The cheesecakes arrived yesterday! Heart & Soul choir students helped unload the truck, unbox the cheesecakes, and sort them into individual orders. According to the shipment invoice, these girls moved over 1700 POUNDS of cheesecake yesterday!
We are so proud of our students for not only being amazing singers, but helpful hard workers as well. Way to go, choir kids! #PantherNation #SSMS
