We’re starting an important conversation about the possibility of transitioning to a Neighborhood Schools model in Siloam Springs. In this model, students would attend the school closest to their home. Currently, our students transition to a new building every two years. Under this proposal, there would be three K–5 elementary schools, two 6–8 middle schools, and one high school—meaning students would only transition twice during their entire time in the SSSD. We know this would be a significant change, and we want to hear your questions and feedback. Please take a moment to watch Superintendent Patrick’s video message, where he shares more about the proposal and why your input matters. You can also view last Thursday’s Board Meeting (Sept. 18) for a more in-depth look at what this transition could mean (starting at the 38-minute mark). Finally, check out the graphic below for the dates, times, and locations of our upcoming Parent Engagement Meetings—we look forward to seeing you there!
