Beginning next school year, Main Street Academy will officially become Panther Academy, serving ALE students in grades 6–12. This name change reflects two important updates for our school.

First, our school will no longer be located on Main Street, making a new name a better representation of our future home and identity. Panther Academy will now be located within Siloam Springs Middle School South (the current Middle School), specifically in the wing closest to W. Tulsa Street. Second, Panther Academy is being restructured to serve students in grades 6–12, allowing us to better focus on the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of secondary students.

Although Panther Academy will be housed within the Middle School South building, students will have their own separate, designated learning space. The only shared area will be the cafeteria, which Panther Academy students will use at a separate scheduled time.

Ms. Markovich and the current staff will continue to lead and support students, and families can expect the same routines, structure, and student-centered approach they know and trust.

Families may continue using the current email contacts for communication. For phone calls or questions, you may still contact Main Street at (479) 524-8209. Beginning Tuesday, May 26, Panther Academy will transition to the Middle School South office phone number. At that time, families can reach the office at (479) 524-6184.

We are excited for this next chapter and look forward to sharing more information with families soon!

Ms Marilyn's Personal Finance class recently completed a unit on factors to consider when buying a vehicle, including vehicle type, maintenance costs, taxes, and insurance. As a culminating project, students explored what goes into building and designing a vehicle. While the project introduced real-world automotive concepts, the primary goal was to strengthen students’ problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills. Students became highly engaged in the process and discovered that their creativity and potential for innovation are limitless. They worked well together, had a great deal of fun, and gained valuable life skills throughout the project.
