🥄🍞 Biscuit Baking Day in Ms. Becan's FCS Classes! 🍞🥄 Today, our FCS students rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on in the kitchen, making delicious homemade biscuits! The goal? To understand the role of nutrition and meal planning in supporting overall health and wellness. Students learned firsthand how smart food choices can fuel a healthy lifestyle—and had fun baking, too! #PantherNation

Big news for SSHS! This morning, Bruce "Isaac" Maldonado earned the Adobe Certified Professional certification in Premiere Pro 2024—the first for our AVTF program! This is a huge accomplishment, and we couldn’t be prouder of him. Join us in celebrating this milestone! #PantherNation

Our students are diving deep into a Socratic discussion, challenging each other's ideas and exploring multiple perspectives. Yesterday's election may have sparked some questions and reflections, and today we're carrying that same spirit of inquiry and open dialogue into the classroom. The Socratic Method encourages critical thinking and listening, which are essential not just in academic settings but in understanding and engaging with the world around us. Through these conversations, our students are practicing the skills they’ll need as thoughtful, informed participants in our society—ready to listen, question, and contribute to meaningful discussions! #PantherNation

Mr. Smith's Medical Terminology classes took an in-depth look at the cardiovascular system through hands-on dissections of cow, pig, and sheep hearts and lungs! Students explored the anatomy and functionality of these organs, with a highlight on inflating the lungs to observe the cardiovascular structures in action. This unique lab experience brought real-world insights into the complexities of the heart and lungs, enhancing students’ understanding of human and animal anatomy. #PantherNation

UPDATE ‼ The immediate weather danger has passed and we will be resuming our regular scheduled bus routes at 4:45 pm. Students will load buses at the high school and be headed home. Parents, please be patient as our bus drivers will be driving with extra caution. Bus Routes will be an hour behind schedule. Thank you for understanding!

ATTENTION ‼ Several bus routes are currently sheltering at Siloam Springs High School and will continue to stay there until given the all-clear. Please do NOT come to pick up your child. Once it is safe, bus routes will continue as normal. We will give more updates as we gain additional information. Thank you!

Socratic Seminar Time! Ms. Magness' English classes took over the library today, diving into powerful discussions on Freedom and the American Dream. Our students tackled big questions about what these ideas mean to them and how they influence society, showing off impressive critical thinking and listening skills! 🌟 Proud Moment for SSHS TSA! 🌟 Our TSA chapter leaders had an incredible experience attending C.O.L.A. (Chapter Officer Leadership Academy) in Little Rock this week! Students participated in a series of activities that helped them grow as leaders, and they took full advantage of the opportunity to connect with peers from across Arkansas. Through engaging breakout sessions, they learned valuable skills in relationship-building, effective leadership, fundraising, and public speaking. We can’t wait to see how they’ll bring these new insights back to SSHS! #PantherNation
