In Nutrition Science, students learn about food and nutrition careers while gaining hands-on experience in kitchen safety and food preparation. Students also have the opportunity to earn their ServSafe certification, an industry-recognized credential for food service and hospitality careers. Together, these pathways prepare students for people-centered careers focused on education, health, and service.

NextGrad is a family-owned educational technology company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Through this partnership, SSHS now features a NextGrad digital screen that provides students with easy access to information about higher education opportunities within our state and across the region.
NextGrad empowers students to continue their education beyond high school by introducing them to colleges, programs, and career pathways they may not have previously known about. The platform also highlights important updates and resources from our school counselors and college advisors, including college application and financial aid events, college representative visits, local scholarships, and other college and career readiness opportunities.
In addition, NextGrad gives back to partner schools through its annual scholarship foundation. To date, NextGrad has returned over $600,000 in scholarships to high schools across its network.
We encourage students, staff, and families to check out the NextGrad screen located in front of the SSHS Library the next time you’re in the building and explore the many opportunities available. #Limitless
