Sharing & Caring of Benton County is now accepting applications for its Hope at Christmas program! Last season, the program served more than 1,000 families and 3,000 children across our community.
Families: Benton County families can apply in English or Spanish at sharingandcaringkids.com/christmas. Applications are due Sunday, Oct. 25, and all interviews must be complete by Saturday, Oct. 31. Distribution Day is set for Friday, Dec. 11, at the Benton County Fairgrounds.
Shoppers: Community members can adopt a family by registering at sharingandcaringkids.com/adopt by Sunday, Nov. 1. Drop off purchased gifts between Nov. 30 and Dec. 4. Businesses and teams should contact Alicia Bunn at aliciab@sharingandcaringkids.com or at (479) 657-6884, by Friday, Oct. 30.

Teams of up to seven students choose a long-term problem and spend weeks developing their own solution. Students may write an original performance, build props and costumes, design vehicles, construct structures, create technology and more.
Along the way, students build skills in:
• Creative problem-solving
• Teamwork and communication
• Engineering and design
• Performing arts
• Critical and divergent thinking
• Confidence and leadership
And they have fun doing it. Interested in learning more?

Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation is hosting a Chalk Art Competition on Saturday, October 3, at Memorial Park in Downtown Siloam Springs.
The theme is “Happiness,” and artists of all ages are invited to bring their creativity to the sidewalk.
Three age groups will compete:
• 12 and under
• 13–17
• 18+
Awards and prizes will be presented for Best in Show and People’s Choice in each age group.
Individuals and teams are welcome to participate. Space is limited, and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis based on paid registration fees.
Competition: 8 a.m.–2 p.m.
Check-in: 7:30–10 a.m.
Registration deadline: September 25 at 5 p.m.
