The Siloam Springs School District is launching our “Erase the Debt” Campaign to help families resolve outstanding student meal balances (per the School Board of Education's directive). Districtwide, unpaid meal balances are approaching $500,000. These unpaid balances must ultimately be covered by the district, which limits resources that could otherwise support student programs and services.

Families with negative balances will receive reminders, payment links, and information about payment plans over the next several weeks via texts, emails, and letters home, so we can work together to clear accounts by May 1st.

Accounts may be referred to a third-party collection agency beginning May 1st only if the balance exceeds $100, is 90+ days past due, and multiple contact attempts have been made. Most importantly, NO student will ever be denied a meal. Even if they have significant meal debt.

If you need help with payments or applying for free or reduced meals, please contact our Child Nutrition Department ⬇️

Last weekend, our Middle School robotics program reached new heights at the V5RC State Robotics Championship at Arkansas Tech University. In our very first year of qualifying for State, both teams proved they belong among the best in Arkansas!

Team 42239B (SUFUR): Placed an impressive #15 in Skills and 28th overall.

Team 42239A (The Radical Robots): Secured 19th in Skills and 38th overall.

Beyond the scoreboard, the REC Foundation prioritizes character and sportsmanship above all else. Due to their outstanding conduct and technical skills, The Radical Robots have officially been invited to the V5RC World Championship in St. Louis (April 25–27). This is the first time in school history that a team has qualified for the State Championship, let alone the World Championship. We are so proud of these students for representing our school with excellence and integrity. #Limitless #SSMS

SSMS recently launched our new reading incentive program, Paws on Pages! The more students read, the more prizes and opportunities we earn. SSMS English Language Arts teachers recognized a few of their star readers at our kick off assembly for Paws on Pages!

Thank you to the Siloam Springs Public Schools Foundation for providing SSMS with a grant to provide students with this opportunity.

Have questions? Check out the graphics posted here! #Limitless #SSMS

We are excited to announce Mrs. Kim Morgan as this year's Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Morgan has been a wonderful addition to our staff over the last 2 years and we are so happy to have her represent the Middle School as TOY!

Here are just a few things our staff had to say about Mrs. Morgan:

"Mrs. Morgan has been invaluable during my time at Siloam. She is supportive and is always willing to help her co-workers on a moment's notice. She is driven and a positive influence to others. Kim goes above and beyond to help students succeed inside and outside of the classroom. She makes Siloam Springs Middle School a great place to work."

"Mrs. Morgan has been an incredible mentor and colleague. Her dedication and hard work are not only evident in the classroom, but also in the way she makes everyone at SSMS feel welcome and included. She always greets others with a friendly smile and is willing to help whoever needs it, whenever they need it."

"Kim Morgan is a teacher who not only supports her students to the best of their ability, but also supports her coworkers. From mentoring novice teachers to stepping in to help veteran colleagues when needed, she consistently demonstrates teamwork and dedication. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition—we appreciate you!" #Limitless #SSMS

Siloam Springs Middle School recently took Hot Springs by storm at the Arkansas TSA Conference, and our students truly showed up as the innovators of tomorrow!

It was an incredible trip where our team brought home 22 individual medals in everything from children’s stories to video game design. We also made history as 7th grader Teagan Minor was elected the first-ever State Middle School Vice President, and our very own Ms. Torell was honored as the Arkansas TSA Advisor of the Year! With over 20 students having qualified to represent our school at the National TSA Conference in Washington D.C. this summer, the momentum was undeniable. #Limitless #SSMS

We had the privilege of taking our students to Crystal Bridges over the span of four days. This tour takes students through American history via artworks that help to tell the complex and fascinating story of the mosaic that is life in the United States. We enjoyed viewing the art in the galleries, time spent in the workshop creating our own art, and even the art outside on the walking trails. We are thankful to Crystal Bridges and their partnership with our school to ensure all students have access to American art. #Limitless #SSMS

The future rolled into SSMS this past week!

Our 8th graders in Computer Science, Robotics, and Career classes spent Thursday, Feb 19th, exploring the Be Pro Be Proud mobile workshop. This immersive experience bridges the gap between school and the professional world by letting students test-drive high-tech careers.

From navigating heavy machinery and semi-trucks to mastering robotics technology and lineman skills, our students got a hands-on look at the high-demand roles that power our world.

We love seeing our students discover new passions! #Limitless #SSMS
