This year, we’re excited to celebrate the incredible team at Siloam Springs School District. Each week, we’ll shine a spotlight on a member of our staff, showcasing what makes them an essential part of our mission to serve our students. Look out for our weekly “SILOAM SPOTLIGHT” feature — it’s going to be an amazing year, and you’ll soon see why!
"Bryan Bierman is a caring, ornery, and cheerful person who constantly tries to make people feel welcome and loved. His care for his students on his bus route is inspiring. At the beginning of this school year, he made a box that said, "What do you need a box?" for his students." They all said fans, and he went and bought each student who wanted a hand fan so they could stay cool on the bus. He was excited and chuckled at how happy it made his students. The list of things he does for his students and our department is endless. Being the driver of route #1, he leads our bus around town, picking up students daily with pride and ensuring we are on time and efficiently. I am proud he is on our team." - Tana Turney, Assistant Transportation Director
"It's a pleasure to work with Bryan. He's very helpful and professional about his job but always has a smile on his face. He was very helpful when I was a new driver." - Vera Sligar, Bus Driver
"Bryan has driven a bus for our district since 2017. He's had perfect attendance several of those years. He enjoys his students and brings them treats most Fridays. He also enjoys playing "Simon Says" on his bus to keep students occupied and paying attention. Bryan always has a positive attitude and is a true Team Player. Our department is blessed to have Bryan as a bus driver!" - Steve Avery, Transportation Director

"Deondra Chamberlain has been a school nurse in our district for nearly 20 years! Deondra provides excellent nursing care and has a gift for teaching students at the Intermediate School as they are learning more about their health and how to take care of themselves. She is a compassionate, caring nurse who makes a big difference in our community both at school and through her non profit organization, Dustin's Dream. We appreciate you, Deondra!" - Lori Tugwell, SSSD Director of Nursing
"I have worked with Deondra for nearly 20 years! We shared the original nurse office at Southside Elementary with 1 desk, a school desk for Deondra, and 2 patient cots. Many good memories were made. I appreciate the care and concern that she shows for students and helping them get the resources they need. Deondra is very deserving of being in the Panther Spotlight." - Amy Brankle, SSMS Nurse
"Mrs. Buck is someone that every building in every district needs to have on their team. Not only does she work extremely hard with a great attitude, she does absolutely everything she can for the success of the building. She is the first person to volunteer when we need help filling duties and positions every time. Not only that, but she serves her students in the ESL classes with everything she has. Our students and our staff love Mrs. Buck!" -Crason Cleveland, SSSE Assistant Principal
"Sarah is an incredibly kind and helpful addition to any building or classroom she enters. She is always stepping in to help others. The students will see Sarah outside in the morning, at lunch, outside at recess, in the ESOL classroom, in their own classroom, and in the hall at the end of the day. They all know her and love her. I am blessed to know her and work alongside her every day. She makes every day better!" -Sarah Pannell, ESOL teacher 4th grade
"She is literally good at everything! She is so helpful, kind, and she has the BEST hair! All of the students here at Southside love her. She is compassionate and has a true heart for students. To know her is to love her." - Tisa & Iris, SSSE Administrative Assistants
