Another long weekend ahead ‼ There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday in observance of MLK day. #PantherNation

Yesterday, the school board had the wonderful opportunity to visit Allen Elementary, where they were treated to a delicious meal prepared by our hardworking Child Nutrition team. After enjoying the meal, they participated in a professional learning community (PLC) session alongside our dedicated teachers. 🍎 During the PLC, teachers came together to analyze important data and test scores, identifying areas where improvements could be made to ensure our students continue to grow and succeed. ✔ We were also thrilled to have 3rd grader Gretta Rhodes and 4th grader Franklin Lopez start last night's board meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. These Southside students did a fabulous job and looked great while doing it! Thank you to the school board for visiting and supporting the important work happening in our classrooms! #PantherNation

What a weekend! ❄️ We hope you enjoyed the unexpected break, but now it's time to hit the books and get back into the groove. See you tomorrow, Panthers! 🐾 Let’s make the rest of the week awesome! #PantherNation

As we all know, weather forecasts can change quickly. However, with winter weather in the forecast tomorrow and Friday, SSSD administrators are already taking every precaution to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families. We closely monitor forecasts, communicate with neighboring school districts, and evaluate road conditions to make the best decision possible regarding school schedules.
Here’s what we consider when making weather-related decisions:
• Road conditions and whether buses and cars can travel safely
• Current snow or ice accumulation
• The rate and expected duration of precipitation
• Parking lot and sidewalk conditions
• Weather predictions
When will you know?
We understand the importance of advance notice for families to make arrangements. When changes to the school schedule are necessary, we strive to notify families and staff as quickly as possible. The second we know, you'll know.
How will you find out?
The SSSD will share updates through the following channels:
• District Mass Notification System - Text
• SSSD Website – www.siloamschools.com
• Social Media – Follow us on Facebook and Instagram
• Local TV and Radio Stations
We encourage parents to rely on official SSSD communication platforms for the most accurate and up-to-date information. The safety and well-being of our families and staff will always remain our top priority. Stay warm and stay safe! 🐾

Over the last two days, our dedicated educators have been immersed in Professional Development (PD) sessions, sharpening their skills and expanding their knowledge to better serve our students. PD is all about continuous growth, ensuring our teachers stay on the cutting edge of best practices, teaching strategies, and new technologies. These sessions have been full of energy, collaboration, and a shared commitment to making this spring semester the best one yet. Our team is excited and ready to welcome students back, with a renewed passion for fostering learning and success in every classroom. Let’s make this semester amazing! 🌟 #PantherNation

Update ❗ The school board meeting originally scheduled for this Thursday, January 9th, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 14th at 5:30 p.m. This change is due to the visitation for our late superintendent, Ken Ramey, taking place on the same night. Thank you for understanding.

Just a reminder, Panther Nation! We are keeping an eye on the upcoming weather and are dedicated to making the safest choice for our students and families. 🐾

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we remember the life and legacy of Ken Ramey, a dedicated leader who served as the Superintendent of the Siloam Springs School District for over 20 years. Throughout his career, Ken’s commitment to the students, staff, and community was nothing short of extraordinary. He was a steadfast advocate for education, always striving to ensure that every student had the opportunity to succeed.
As a leader, Ken led with integrity, kindness, and humility, always putting the needs of others before his own. His legacy is one of positive change and progress, and the community of Siloam Springs will forever be grateful for his service.
To Ken’s family, friends, and all whose lives he touched, we extend our deepest condolences. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit and the impact of his work will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

REMINDER ❗ The School Board meeting will be NEXT Thursday, Jan. 9th at 5:30 pm inside the admin building board room (3050 Cheri Whitlock Dr).
