Get an 👀 inside look 👀 at how our counselors and educators talk through severe weather with our younger Panthers! Often, severe thunderstorms can cause big emotions in some students. ⛈ When big emotions surface, it can be hard to learn and stay focused. Our vision at the SSSD is to meet the individual needs of every student. That means slowing down, getting on their level, and processing emotions that come with bright flashes of light and loud booms. We think the last slide sums it up perfectly: "I can have a GREAT day even when the skies are grey!" 😎
PLEASE NOTE ‼️With severe weather headed our way, we will be keeping a close eye on the radar. We will send you updates via your child's school communication platform and on socials if anything progresses. Thank you for trusting us with your child's safety!

This week, members of our district leadership team attended the 2025 AACIA Conference, which focused on system and instructional coherence. 📚🔍 This conference emphasizes a shared commitment to driving instructional excellence and ensuring that our students receive the best possible learning experiences. Our leaders had the opportunity to learn from Arkansas educators as they shared proven models of instruction, including coaching supports and outcome evaluations. These insights will help strengthen our instructional strategies and support student success across the district! We’re excited to bring back new ideas and best practices to continue improving learning for all Panthers! 🐾 #PantherNation

Our Siloam Springs High School U.S. History students have been diving into their study of the Vietnam War! This week, a group of Vietnam Veterans generously took time out of their schedules to visit our students, sharing their firsthand experiences through a panel discussion. They answered thought-provoking questions, offering powerful reflections on both the hardships and moments of joy they encountered.
Their memories ranged from the camaraderie of singing Christmas carols all night in a cave to the relief of seeing their friends still standing beside them after battle. Some recalled lighter moments, like playing flag football on the flight deck when things were slow or the simple joy of mail time and an ice-cold glass of water in the sweltering heat of Vietnam.
We are incredibly grateful for these veterans' willingness to share their stories and bring history to life for our students! #PantherNation
