ALL after-school activities are also canceled. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take these precautions to ensure everyone's safety. Please stay safe and warm during the inclement weather. Thank you for understanding!

As we all know, weather forecasts can change quickly. However, with winter weather in the forecast tomorrow and Friday, SSSD administrators are already taking every precaution to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families. We closely monitor forecasts, communicate with neighboring school districts, and evaluate road conditions to make the best decision possible regarding school schedules.
Here’s what we consider when making weather-related decisions:
• Road conditions and whether buses and cars can travel safely
• Current snow or ice accumulation
• The rate and expected duration of precipitation
• Parking lot and sidewalk conditions
• Weather predictions
When will you know?
We understand the importance of advance notice for families to make arrangements. When changes to the school schedule are necessary, we strive to notify families and staff as quickly as possible. The second we know, you'll know.
How will you find out?
The SSSD will share updates through the following channels:
• District Mass Notification System - Text
• SSSD Website – www.siloamschools.com
• Social Media – Follow us on Facebook and Instagram
• Local TV and Radio Stations
We encourage parents to rely on official SSSD communication platforms for the most accurate and up-to-date information. The safety and well-being of our families and staff will always remain our top priority. Stay warm and stay safe! 🐾

Update ❗ The school board meeting originally scheduled for this Thursday, January 9th, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 14th at 5:30 p.m. This change is due to the visitation for our late superintendent, Ken Ramey, taking place on the same night. Thank you for understanding.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we remember the life and legacy of Ken Ramey, a dedicated leader who served as the Superintendent of the Siloam Springs School District for over 20 years. Throughout his career, Ken’s commitment to the students, staff, and community was nothing short of extraordinary. He was a steadfast advocate for education, always striving to ensure that every student had the opportunity to succeed.
As a leader, Ken led with integrity, kindness, and humility, always putting the needs of others before his own. His legacy is one of positive change and progress, and the community of Siloam Springs will forever be grateful for his service.
To Ken’s family, friends, and all whose lives he touched, we extend our deepest condolences. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit and the impact of his work will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

REMINDER ❗ The School Board meeting will be NEXT Thursday, Jan. 9th at 5:30 pm inside the admin building board room (3050 Cheri Whitlock Dr).

January is National School Board Recognition Month, a time to honor and appreciate the dedicated volunteers who serve on our school board. 🥳 These individuals generously give their time, expertise, and energy to ensure that our students receive the best education possible. They make tough decisions, advocate for our schools, and work tirelessly to support our educators, staff, and community. As we celebrate this month, let’s take a moment to thank our school board members for their hard work and unwavering dedication. We are fortunate to have such a passionate group of individuals helping to guide and grow our district. Thank you for all that you do!

Last night’s board meeting was extra special as we had some very special guests in attendance! 🥰 We were thrilled to welcome five incredible kindergarten students from Northside Elementary. Their bright smiles and enthusiasm brought so much joy to our meeting. But the excitement didn’t stop there! During our celebrations, we were also treated to a beautiful performance by 15 talented 2nd graders from Allen Elementary. They shared a sneak peek of their upcoming Christmas program, filling the room with holiday cheer. For those who missed it, don’t worry! You can experience the full performance tomorrow night at Allen Elementary, starting at 5:30 PM. 🎶 We’re so proud of the amazing work happening in our schools! #PantherNation

Yesterday, we celebrated this quarter's graduates at Main Street Academy with a handprint ceremony! The most special part of this day is when our educators stand up and say how these students have impacted them. You hear details like, "Their bright smile every morning made it worth it" or "Having that extra helping hand with such a positive attitude made me as a teacher want to work harder and be better for our students". These are connections and memories that will last a lifetime! 💖 #PantherNation

REMINDER ❗ The School Board meeting will be NEXT Tuesday, Dec. 17th at 5:30 pm inside the admin building board room (3050 Cheri Whitlock Dr).

Happy National Special Education Day!🎉 This day commemorates the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act into law on this day in 1975 (IDEA). IDEA granted access to children with special needs to free and quality public education. The act has been revised several times but the crux of it remains the same and is the foundation for special education in the U.S. Thank you to our exceptional special education team members for your tireless efforts. We are deeply grateful for your passion and dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of students and their families.! You are truly changing the world, one student at a time! 🥰 #PantherNation

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! 🍁🦃 Whether you're celebrating with a big feast, a quiet dinner, or in your own unique way, we hope your day is filled with warmth, gratitude, and joy. Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving! 🧡 #PantherNation
